Amber Trip 2008

On Thursday 6th March there will begin Lithuanian International Baltic Jewellery Show Amber Trip, organized for the fifth time. The show will be held, like every year, in a conference centre in the Reval Hotel Lietuva and will last till Sunday, 9th March.

The products presented during the show are in half made of amber, the remaining 50% constitutes golden and silver jewellery with stones as well as pearls. The organizers anticipate more exhibitors than last year (during the previous edition 160) and buyers. For those last ones there has been prepared a special VIP package this year – upon a registration in advance the buyers are entitled to get among other things a discount for a hotel room, free accommodation, transport from the airport and minor services sponsored by the show.
The fifth edition of the show will be accompanied by a number of exhibitions and events. Olegs Auzers from Latvia is going to show a silver castle of a unique size and a replica of the Flying Dutchman made of silver. Uwe Petersen from Germany is going to present an amber ZOO, the biggest in the world. There will be shown the most interesting part of this extraordinary collection of more than 400 animals of 200 species carved in amber. We also recommend a presentation of the Tsarskoe Selo Amber Workshop where there was made a reconstruction of the Amber Chamber.
The organizer got us used to the annual gala of fashion organized in an industrial interior of the hotel garage, being a very important event not only for those interested in amber fashion, but also for many photographers of fashion magazines from Vilnius. On Saturday night (9th March) the guests will be able to see a record number of 11 collections by the designers from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Russia. The subject matter of the jewellery and clothes which had been prepared especially for this occasion, varies from luxurious classics through bold and modern jewellery to elements of humour.
“The moment, last! You are so beautiful!” – this a subject of the artistic competition organized for the first time and from now on it is to accompany the show. Its subject is widely understood jewellery with amber. The jury is going to have a sitting during the show and the results of the competition will be published in the May issue of the “Baltic Jewellery News” magazine which is also edited by the show’s organizer.
