inhorgenta europe 2008 has started

Today there is a beginning of the inhorgenta europe fair in Munich, being one of the most important fair events in the world.

At the 35th International Trade Fair for Watches, Clocks, Jewellery, Precious Stones, Pearls, Silver Products and Technology 1 223 exhibitors from 48 countries (2007: 1 186 companies from 42 countries) present their offer in six halls having a toal area of 64 500 m2 (gross). Most of the companies represent Germany (783 companies being 64%), but a participation of foreign exhibitors is significant and increasing all the time – 441 companies this year. There is also a constant increase in the number of visitors – in 2007 the fair noted a double record: the event was visited by more than 30 000 people from the trade, including more than 10 000 from abroad. The organizer – Messe München GmbH – hopes that this year’s results, unless they are better, will at least remain at the same level.
The numbers of exhibitors and visitors have remained at the high level for a few years, showing a slightly growing tendency. The reason of this is a constant strengthening of this fair’s position as the event with an international character – during 35 years the inhorgenta europe fair worked out a position of an important platform for establishing international contacts, also with the representatives of the markets from Central and Eastern Europe. At present more than a half exhibitors is from abroad and among them there are the leading manufacturers of designer products from Italy, Great Britain, Spain and Switzerland, but also from Poland and Belgium. It is also important that Germany notes a constant boom in the economy as well as an increasing need for luxurious products all over the world.

The visitors of the inhorgenta europe fair will be able not only to familiarize themselves with the exhibitors’ offer, but also take part in some interesting seminars concerning the trends in fashion, jewellery and a sector of jeweller’s stones in 2008, as well as gain precious information on the latest tendencies of a store décor and advice on how to sell better. It is also worth visiting the places which became, so to speak, a flagship of the fair, that is:
- the Design Hall (C2), constituting the biggest in the world scale, having currently 383 exhibitors, representation of the achievements of modern jewellery design;
- the Platinum Forum (B1) organized by the International Platinum Guild in cooperation with the fair, where over 20 the best companies specializing in platinum jewellery are going to present their extraordinary achievements;
- the forum for young artists “Brand New – New Brand” (C2) – here the graduates from the schools connected with the trade present their achievements. We will see here, among other things, silver jewellery decorated with amber by Jacek Ostrowski;
