Elektronos 2007: The Winners

The Jury of Elektronos Amberif Design Award, the 11th International Competition for the Design of Jewellery with Amber: Barbara Schmidt, Naomi Filmer, Czeslawa Frejlich, Prof. Jacek Popek and Janusz Wosik assessed works of artistic expression on the subject of natural mystic. This year 90 entries were submitted from 12 countries: Brasil, Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico, Poland, Portugal and Sweden. The Jury awarded the following prizes:

  1. The Grand Prize sponsored by Mayor of the City of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz (PLN 10,000) went to Angelina Stoykova (Bulgaria) for [...] a playful piece of jewellery which presents amber in a fresh and original material combination;

  2. The Amber Prize sponsored by the International Amber Association (2 kg of amber) went to Dorota Kos (Poland) for her innovative, technical and contemporary approach to working with amber [...];

  3. The Silver Prize sponsored by the YES Company (3 kg of silver) went to: Klementyna Pielaszkiewicz (Poland) for the overriding impression of this piece: the presence of scent; the sensation of smell [...].


The Jury also awarded 3 honorary mentions to: Iwona Piotrowska (Lodz, Poland), Alina Tyro-Niezgoda (Warsaw, Poland) and Marta Rudnicka (Lodz, Poland).
