Two famous jewellery designers from Western Europe, Tasso Mattar and Philip Sajet, invite in June to Mallorca to take part in their handicraft workshop of designing and working with amber.
 The artists are going to present a series of techniques and useful information on working with such fascinating material as amber, having been present in their lives for many years. The workshop is going to be held between 7 th and 11 th July in Tasso Mattar’s workshop in Arta at Mallorca. A participation cost amounts to € 700.

Tasso Mattar
A jewellery designer whose favourite materials are of organic origin. His works constitute an extraordinarily sculptural vision of reality. The winner of the Amber Prize in the International Contest for the Design of Jewellery with Amber Amberif Design Award (Elektronos) in 2000. He has been a member of the jury of this competition twice. His amber boat (called Arche) is the only amber showpiece of a permanent exhibition in the Jewellery Museum (Schmuckmuseum) in Pforzheim. Besides designing jewellery a few times a year he conducts artistic workshops on jewellery design.
Philip Sajet
Last year’s winner of the main prize of the first Biennial of Amber in Frombork. He also got a distinction in the Alatyr 2006 and Elektronos 2007 competitions. A member of the jury of the Amberif Design Award (Elektronos) 2002. One of the best known goldsmiths in Europe, he has given lectures in the Royal College of Art in London and the Alchimia in Florence.
