Size
1. Unique nuggets: over 100 mm in their largest linear cross-section
2. Large nuggets: over 50 mm in their largest linear cross-section
3. Medium-sized nuggets: over 25 mm in their largest linear cross-section
4. Small nuggets: over 10 mm in their largest linear cross-section
5. Small grains: smaller than 10 mm
Form (shape)
A. Form which is close to regular, smooth surface with no humps or hollows. Smallest to largest dimension ratio not lower than 0.75
B. Form which is close to isometric. Surface is smoothed with small humps and hollows up to 3 mm deep. Smallest to largest dimension ratio over 0.5
C. Form which is irregular. Uneven surface with hollows up to 5 mm . Smallest to largest dimension ratio over 0.15
D. Form which is very irregular, complex, random, twisted. Layered structure. Cracked or porous surface. Deep cracks or humps, as well as holes. Smallest to largest dimension ratio below 0.15. Each of the above properties qualifies a piece as D form
Colour
1. Thin colouring: transparent – red, lime green, blue-greenish-yellow; translucent – lime green; white with a green or blue tint
2. Traditional colouring: brown, brown-yellow, yellow and china-coloured. Without inclusions or flaws
3. Traditional colouring as in point 3, but uneven, with a shade of grey or a small number of mineral or organic inclusions
4. Transparent with impurities, translucent or non-transparent (grey-brown, grey or dark), containing a large number of inclusions of various sizes
