Bursztynisko Bulletin

Written by  Anna Sado

We would like to encourage everyone to read the materials published in the last issue of the bilingual newsletter ''Bursztynisko'' published by the International Amber Association.

Although ''Bursztynisko'' is an internal periodical of the IAA, a lot of information published there concerns amber issues, not the internal issues of the organisation. In the latest, March issue, Professor Dr. hab. Barbara Kosmowska-Ceranowicz takes part in a discussion about amber fakes and the so-called green amber made of copal. She recommends continuing the credible examination of amber imitations, based on copal as an initial material. Professor Dr. hab. Kosmowska-Ceranowicz is also an author of an article about a new specimen of world copal resin at the Earth Museum. Jacek Szwedo (''Was the Koyamaki a Mother Plant for the Baltic Amber Resin?'') and Anna Małka (''An Outline of the Baltic Amber Deposits Exploitation.'') outline the history of amber and its exploitation.

In the latest issue you will also find information about important events from the amber industry and reviews of several books about amber and its inclusions.
