An amber bracelet for Rod Stewart

Written by  Anna Sado
On Thursday 26th July during his concert in Gdansk Shipyard Rod Stewart was given an amber bracelet by the mayor of the city of Gdansk, Pawel Adamowicz.

The concert was organized in order to celebrate the anniversary of August Agreements signing as a part of “A Space of Freedom” series. It was attended by more than 35 000 Rod Stewart fans. In their presence the mayor of the city of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz did up the amber bracelet on the singer’s wrist with the words: “Rod, we are giving you what we have the most precious, that is Gdansk amber.” The artist assured that he “will cherish this gift for the rest of his life”. And it seems that it is indeed true because apparently he wore it during one of his subsequent concerts.
The bracelet was made in Ambermoda workshop from Sopot, owned by Danuta and Mariusz Gliwinski. On the black leather strip, in a silver frame there was placed a natural Baltic amber in yellow. According to the author this is the colour of amber being characteristic for the Baltic region.
