On Amber in the Foreign Media

Foreign magazines have been publishing articles about amber - it is the result of a studio visit of nine journalists from Italy, the USA, Germany, China, and Japan, who were invited to the Amberif trade fair, as a part of jewellery and amber industry promotion.

The IAA Excludes Shaped Amber

The Board of the International Amber Association changed the rules of recommendation at their last seating. The change excludes the possibility of using shaped amber (at high temperature, of one block, cut to the desired shape earlier) by companies recommended by the International Amber Association. It will be implemented alongside issuing new certificates and renewing old ones.

Amber Business Partner 2012

The International Amber Association has held for the second time a competition for the Amber Business Partner Award – this time this honorary title went to Virginija and Kazimieras Mizgiris of the Amber Gallery company, owners of several galleries with choice Baltic amber products in Lithuania.

Amber Personalities of the Year 2012

This year, for the first time in the history of the plebiscite, the votes of the jury board were spread evenly. Because the candidates were very strong, with unquestionable artistic practice, the jury yoard decided to make an exception and grant two, parallel titles of the Amber Personality of the Year 2012, to Mariusz Gliwiński and Tomasz Mikołajczyk.

Amber Inspires Belgian Designers

The 4th International Amber Workshops in Gdańsk were inaugurated on September 10th, by Andrzej Szadkowski, Professor from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź with his lecture “Inspiring Amber. Selected Issues of Design”. Five days later at the Styl Amber Gallery visitors could see ready works of Belgian participants of the workshops.

Baltic Amber Festival - Success

"It is the first such professional promotional campaign of Baltic amber as an exclusive product" - emphasise the participants of the Baltic Amber Festival in Hong Kong - Mariusz Gliwiński and Sławomir Fijałkowski. The organiser - Nancy Chiu from the Amberozia company insists that it is not the quantity but the quality of visitors that matters.

Baltic Amber Festival in Hong Kong

A Baltic Amber Festival will be held in Hong Kong over 15th and 24th June, 2012. The event will promote Baltic amber in China and will consist of three "pillars": a media campaign, workshops with an open lecture about amber, and an exhibition of jewellery by Polish designers and producers, where jewellery will also be sold.

Positively Crazy Wieluń

Over 20 kilos of amber brought form the Baltic Sea, and amber jewellery have become a treasure trove for the most persistent treasure hunters during the European Amber Celebration which took place, for the fifth time, in Wieluń and Konopnica last weekend.
