Life In the Rays of Amber

On October 7th, 2011 at the Alexander Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg the exhibition "Life In the Rays of Amber" was opened. The exhibition is devoted to the memory of Alexander Zhuravlev.

Alexander Zhuravlev's Murderers Sentenced

The court proceedings at the court in St. Petersburg lasted over a year and a half and in May 2011 ended in sentence for the murderers of Aleksander Zhuravlev - an outstanding amber antiques conservator, reviver of the Amber Chamber and creator of an entire range of contemporary pieces of art; as well as an unfailing friend for Polish amber makers.

Sylwia Gabszewicz Has Died

Sylwia Gabszewicz, a painter who fell in love with amber, died on May 14th, 2011 at the age of 55. The offspring of her love of amber was very characteristic jewellery, in which she combined amber with silver and colourful gemstones.

Maryna Lewicka-Wala Passed Away

On February 27th, 2011, Maria Lewicka-Wala (1941-2011) passed away at the age of 70. We will remember her as the precursor to the trend for using natural materials in jewellery and the ethnic character of her ornaments.
